“We hear again and again that mental health matters. It does. For all of us. The mental health effects of the pandemic could linger long after the crisis has passed…”
– Shore House, a nonprofit mental health support center in Long Branch, NJ

Our mental health is one of the most important things that we possess as individuals. This is a very simple fact that far-too-often gets buried in the rigmarole of daily life as we wade through our routines, passing from one stressor to another. The current crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic has complicated life even further in a lot of ways, and many worry that even after the crisis as passed, its effects on mental health could remain for an indefinite period of time. It is in times like these that assistance is truly needed more than ever, and a nonprofit mental health support center located in Long Branch, NJ called Shore House is stepping up to the plate.

The organization is currently holding a statewide fundraising and awareness campaign called “NJ Race for Recovery”, where participants can create their own 1, 2, or 5 mile even online to raise money. Running from May 15 to May 31, the race is open to all, and events are 100 percent open to the participant’s creativity – they can run, walk, ride a bicycle, or walk their pet if they want. And the best part: all funds raised from the campaign will directly benefit the organization’s programs that are designed to help those with mental health challenges!
